Movie Diary 7/8/2010

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (Jon Turteltaub, 2010). The hottest day of the year in Seattle saw temperatures in the mid-90s; if that isn’t a justification for a Jon Turteltaub movie in the cool climate of the Pacific Place multiplex, I don’t know what is. Because of that, I don’t really care what this movie is about, but Nicolas Cage is a sorcerer, Jay Baruchel is his assistant, and assorted magick people are played by Alfred Molina, Monica Bellucci, and Alice Krige, which at least is an offbeat collection of actors. Could’ve been longer, though. (full review 7/14)
