Movie Diary 8/11/2010

Eat Pray Love (Ryan Murphy, 2010). Enlightenment: it’s fabulous. (full review 8/13)

Wah Do Dem (Ben Chace, Sam Fleischner, 2009). A low-budget indie that actually seems sort of fresh, in its modest way: this is a partly improvised ramble, with a sharp eye and good music. (full review 8/13)

The Snorkel (Guy Green, 1958). Another Hammer suspense picture, a locked-room murder with some good moments (the ending especially), featuring Peter van Eyck as a weirdo Aryan killer two years before Carl Bohm ran amuck in Peeping Tom. There is a snorkel in it.
