Rise of the Planet of the Apes (Rupert Wyatt, 2011). Can booting the Oscar-hosting job completely change an actor’s persona? Sorry, James Franco, it’s hard to get that out of one’s head. Meanwhile, a beloved childhood series is extended here, in a what-the-hell-why-not prequel that has a few moments. The CGI could make it or break it for you, but kudos to Andy Serkis for once again proving that yes, he can move around with motion-capture lightbulbs all over his body like nobody else. What a Feeling! remembers Jerzy Skolimowski’s Moonlighting, a remarkable 1982 film that gave Jeremy Irons one of his best roles.
