Movie Diary 8/4/2011

ZPG (Michael Campus, 1972). Oliver Reed and Geraldine Chaplin live in a smog-shrouded futuristic society in which child-bearing is forbidden. I wonder what they’ll do? This movie uses more budget-disguising dry ice than anything since Detour, although the results are hardly comparable. The people wear Mao-riffic jumpsuits and for a while Reed dons a marigold mock-turtleneck sweater, the biggest sweater in the world. A really boring film.

At What a Feeling!, we recall, as briefly as possible, the final installment in a dishearteningly successful series: Porky’s Revenge.
