Movie Diary 1/4/2012

In the Land of Blood and Honey (Angelina Jolie, 2011). A brutal film, genuinely uncompromising, with a couple of admirable lead performances. I understand the director is an actress herself. (full review 1/6)

Man on a Ledge (Asger Leth, 2012). Leth is the son of Jørgen Leth, of Five Obstructions fame, but I refuse to believe this is not a pseudonym for Tony Scott. It’s a comedy, which is an interesting choice for a movie about a man on a frigging ledge. (full review 1/27)

At What a Feeling!, we go for a vintage review of Philip Noyce’s Dead Calm, a story once filmed, but never completed, by Orson Welles.
