Detour (Edgar G. Ulmer, 1945). The B-movie granddaddy, as relentless as a one-man radio play, as salty as cheap diner food, as empty as cheap back projection.

The Deep Blue Sea (Terence Davies, 2011). Probably a movie that could only have been made by Terence Davies, which is to say, something that looks very out of its time. (full review 4/20)

At What a Feeling!, the Eighties reel along with reviews of Mickey Rose’s Student Bodies and Mats Helge’s The Ninja Mission.
