Movie Diary 11/19/2012

Bernie (Richard Linklater, 2012). Missed it the first time around, and very glad to catch up. It’s quite a story, an inspired structure, and maybe the performance Jack Black has been aiming toward all these years.

At What a Feeling!, we launch the week (well, probably a shortened holiday week) with a review of Stanley R. Jaffe’s Without a Trace, the big chance for Kate Nelligan in Hollywood.

And for the folks at the Humanities Washington talk yesterday who requested a list of the main titles I talk about in the “End of the Trail” lecture, here’s that:

A Fistful of Dollars/For a Few Dollars More/The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Once Upon a Time in the West

The Wild Bunch

Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Little Big Man

McCabe & Mrs. Miller

Bad Company

Blazing Saddles
