Zero Dark Impossible (Weekly Links)

Jessica Chastain, Zero Dark Thirty

Links to reviews I wrote this week for the Herald, and etc.

Zero Dark Thirty. “Uneasy in a variety of ways.”

The Impossible. “The monster here is the Indian Ocean.”

Francine. “Leo has never backed away from complete engagement with her roles.”

On KUOW’s “Weekday,” I talked with Steve Scher about the “Celluloid Seattle: A City at the Movies” exhibit at the Museum of History and Industry, as well as Zero Dark Thirty. The show is archived here.

Next Thursday, January 10, I will be delivering a Curator’s Talk at MOHAI about the exhibit. That’s at 7 p.m. and it’s free, although if you want to tour the exhibit itself the usual ticket price applies. Passes for the talk may be reserved here.

At What a Feeling!, reviews of Eighties movies keep rolling out. See, for instance, Alan Parker’s greasy Angel Heart and Bud Yorkin’s sobriety-minded Arthur 2: On the Rocks.
