Movie Diary 3/11/2013

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (Don Scardino, 2013). Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi as Vegas magicians. Less doughy and aggressively sentimental than the recent run of this kind of comedy. Every ten minutes Jim Carrey shows up and absolutely kills. (full review 3/15)

Metropolis (Fritz Lang, 1927). It still looks vast and sinister. And it plays better at a longer running time.

At What a Feeling!, the Eighties reviews start up again with a vintage take on Mike Newell’s The Good Father, a forgotten Anthony Hopkins piece.
