Getaway (Courtney Solomon, 2013). Demonstration of montage vs. long take: for 85 minutes this thing is chop-chop-chop, and then for 60 seconds or so it indulges in an unbroken shot from the front of a car speeding along at dawn through the streets of Sofia, Bulgaria. (Somebody’s a fan of Claude Lelouch’s Rendezvous.) What a relief the shot is. Then it goes right back into the chop. (full review 8/30)
