Josh Pais, Rosemarie DeWitt: Touchy Feely

Josh Pais, Rosemarie DeWitt: Touchy Feely

Links to reviews I wrote this week for the Herald and Seattle Weekly, and etc.

Touchy Feely. “In the film’s exactly observed living rooms and offices, there is something human going on.”

Paradise: Faith. “This is one of those movies that inspire concern for the actors on screen.”

This afternoon, September 13, join the talkers of Framing Pictures for another panel discussion on cinephilia and intriguing things coming up on Seattle screens. It’s at 5 at the Northwest Film Forum; check the FP Facebook page for updates about subject matter; regular talkers Richard T. Jameson, Kathleen Murphy, and I will be joined by Chris Marker aficionado Philip Wohlstetter to preview the NWFF’s run of Marker’s Le joli mai, and today’s other topics include Paradise: Faith, Anne Fontaine’s Adore, and how critics can have such radically different takes on the same movie.

Sunday, September 15 at 2 p.m., join me at the Frye Art Museum for a free screening (the U.S. premiere, in fact) of the 2011 documentary Dreaming of a Treehouse, a look at the “Ecohouse” in Berlin. More info here.
