Movie Diary 2/3/2014

The Monuments Men (George Clooney, 2014). Kinda moves like a jeep on a dirt road, although Clooney feels strongly about the saga. Check the true story and the doc The Rape of Europa for the story. (full review 2/7)

Harold and Maude (Hal Ashby, 1971). A cult film of its era – so does anybody still talk about this film?

A Field in England (Ben Wheatley, 2013). England’s bad boy returns with a delirious, arty idea that mixes Beckett and Monty Python and early Kubrick. But man, could it use subtitles. (full review 2/7)

The Lego Movie ( Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, 2014). The people who insisted Speed Racer was a great film (or a film) should be excited about this. But The Lego Movie is actually fun. (full review 2/7)

Super Bowl 48. How sweet it is.
