Movie Diary 5/8/2014

Boyhood (Richard Linklater, 2014). A film shot over the course of 12 years, its actors aging as the movie progresses. It has the breeze and the tenderness one expects from the director’s work, and the sheer length eases the impact of even the unexpectedly melodramatic moments. (Shows at the Seattle International Film Festival, 5/31 & 6/1)
