Peter Mayhew and Harrison Ford: The Force Awakens

Links to my reviews published this week in the Herald and Seattle Weekly, and etc.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens. “A nifty balance between honoring pre-existing mythology and cooking up something new.”

Sisters. “May not be much of a movie, but it is a party.” (Seattle Weekly link here.)

The Danish Girl. “This enervated approach brings the worst aspects of the prestige arthouse picture to the fore.” (Seattle Weekly link here.)

Youth. “Fortune-cookie wisdom, a strong sense of melancholy, and a fair share of Euro-nudity.”

Our November Framing Pictures session is online, at the Seattle Channel website. The Framers speak of Spotlight and Truth as contrasting journalism movies; Sicario and Bridge of Spies as films with different kinds of excitement; and Bone Tomahawk, a genre picture you gotta see. It also debuts on TV tonight at 10 p.m. and thereafter over the next few days:

Fri, Dec 18, 10:00 p.m.
Sat, Dec 19, 9:00 p.m.
Tue, Dec 22, 4:30 a.m.
Wed, Dec 23, 1:00 a.m.
Fri, Dec 25, 3:00 a.m.
Sat, Dec 26, 2:00 p.m.
