Movie Diary 11/6/2017

Murder on the Orient Express (Kenneth Branagh, 2017). A remake of the ’74 film, which was the kind of movie you could see as an adolescent with your parents and not feel embarrassed or bored about. That might still be the case with this version, although Branagh’s film isn’t quiet as hammy, in the good way, as Lumet’s. Some clever moments, a few bits where Branagh reminds you he can be a canny, forceful actor, and one terrific mustache. (full review 11/10)
