Movie Diary 6/2/2020

Shirley (Josephine Decker, 2020). Based on a novel about a fictitious young couple who come to live with Shirley Jackson (Elisabeth Moss) and her academic husband (Michael Stuhlbarg) at Bennington circa 1946. The director did Madeline’s Madeline, which a lot of people liked. It’s a world away from the lucidity of Jackson’s prose. (full review 6/5)
