Movie Diary 5/31/2022

Valley Girl (Martha Coolidge, 1983). More prep for an upcoming Nicolas Cage talk, where I will attempt to “crush that fly.” I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this movie, but it never pales. I reviewed it very early in my career, too.

Willy’s Wonderland (Kevin Lewis, 2021). More Cage, this time in an aggressively dumb movie that fits the brand well enough, I suppose (NC is a drifter stuck for a night in an abandoned Chuck E. Cheese-type emporium where the audio-animatronic creatures are devil-possessed and come to life; needless to say, Cage gives a wordless performance).
