Annie Hall (Woody Allen, 1977). If you were around at the time, it was one of the most quotable movies ever made. Also a kind of “life movie” in some way, and without its influence I wonder whether a lot of small, thoughtful films would be getting made in the same way today (even if the people now making them have forgotten its influence). Not a perfect thing, by any means, but indelible nonetheless.
One Fine Morning (Mia Hansen-Love, 2022). For instance, this might be one of those small, thoughtful films. Will write about this for tomorrow.
