Movie Diary 5/28/2024

Coup de Chance (Woody Allen, 2023). The Woodman’s most recent film. You may or may not have heard about it. Maybe I’ll write about this one, as I have with dozens of other movies by this director – why stop now?

Intolerable Cruelty (Joel Coen, 2003). Worth a second look? Not really. Terribly forced from the get-go, with only Billy Bob Thornton distinguishing himself. Clooney is a pro here, executing the cartoonish moments with precision and capturing a certain puppydog wonder when he’s in thrall to the black widow.
